Still here!

Dear Folks, My sister Mary is typing for me, because I'm too lazy to!
Now, don't think I wear this cute white chapeau all the time these days. This picture is from right after the surgery on July 23rd. Mary wanted to post it because she thinks I look so cute.
Nowadays, I walk around without a turban. Chemotherapy and radiation were just as fun this week as the week before, and finally, yes, my hair has started to fall out, just yesterday!
I often have great energy and sometimes I'm really tired. I just went to the movies tonight with Mary (Cairo Time. -- highly recommended.)
My spirits are great and we all know your healing is in your spirits!
Thank you so much, everybody, for supporting me with your prayers and thoughts and everything else! It's all helping!
Keep those cards and letters coming! It's great to hear from you whenever you want to email me or write or whatever.
Love, Trisha

  8. Hi Trisha, if you want Claudie to start knitting for you, we need the size of your head (in centimeters and just above the ears). Beside, any preference for colors?
Best and lots of love, Emmanuelle

  9. Greetings Trisha! Adam here, one of John's sailing buddies, hope to see you sailing very soon, it's been great getting to know you the bros and your dad on the boat. Thanks for the Cairo Time recommendation. I must say the Callahan piano events this year have been wonderful. Cheers and all the best, Adam

  10. Mary's right. Thanks for sharing. Glad you had the energy to see a movie, and I wanna see that one too. I'm glad you have some good days during treatment where you can do normal fun things! My dear neighbor (age 40) is facing similar treatment for a brain tumor and I wonder if it would be helpful for him (or for you) to talk together. Affectionately, Emily

  11. Hi Trisha,
I've been thinking of you this last week in particular b/c I just had my "reaudition/voice lesson" from Paul for Chora Nova. I was remembering how great it was to have you join the awesome CN altos last spring & am hoping that music is still a big part of your life -- how could it not be.

Just before we went on vaca in August, I ordered your documentary. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I'm looking forward to it!

Thinking of you often and sending you lots of good thoughts for peace, healing, music, appetite, and no nausea!

  12. Fabulous chapeau, dahling, and so chic of you to wear it at a jaunty angle! Rosh Hashana (Jewish New Year) begins tonight and I've always loved how the new school year lined up with a new calendar year (for some portion of the population, anyway). Somehow, it seems especially important that in the middle of your process of healing, a new year is starting. It's like a clean slate; this year, 5771, is Patricia's Year of Healing. So, shana tova umekatah (a good and sweet year), Patricia!

    Best wishes,
    Kate O.

  14. Dear Trish,
I just read everybody else's comments and thought, even tho' I typed the post m'self when I was CA, I could write a comment too!
I miss you a lot (being far off in NY) but do have you here in my heart with all your joy and humor and effin' cuteness! I have put your blog at the top of my favorites on the computer, and click on it just to see the pic again! I have now decided it's the cutest picture of a human bean I've ever seen!
And of course, cutiness is next to godliness!
    Love, mare

  16. Dearest Trisha,
You are such a Champ! I am so happy to hear that through all of this you have remained so positive! You're truly admirable!
Incredible photo, it seems to reveal your spirit and give me confidence that you sure are on a quick road to recovery! (Even just the day after surgery!)
I look forward to seeing you at the shop!
    Much Love,

  17. Dear Trisha,

Here's a hello to you from Copenhagen, on a Friday morning, eating muesli. I started another 4 year education, to become an English teacher here. I'm having to read about philosophy, psychology and didactics in Danish. The English part is a breeze, of course, but the rest is sort of thick. It's time consuming, and I'm already in my 3rd week of textbooks and dictionaries. ...perpetual student blues. But I have Tuesdays and Fridays off temporarily, so here I am eating muesli and getting ready to go to the gym for the first time in months.

I'm glad I got to see you when we (Ali, Mom, Ryan and I) came from Nevada to the Bay Area and stayed at Kathleen's place before I had to go back to Denmark. I'm glad we got to walk up Piedmont Avenue together and ended up at Uncle Gaylord's. Lots of memories there, with the pacman table and I seem to remember a white mint chip ice cream cone when I was very little, with Ali, once.

But lattes and pastries and catching up was really nice. Even though I know it's not exactly a picnic what you're going through. I know you are approaching it with a great attitude and high spirits and humor. You're really special to me and my family, and my sister simply adores you, as well. But you know that, and it goes without saying. You are such a strong, creative lady and inspiriational friend. We're glad you're in our life.

I'm grateful, not only just over my muesli this morning, but often, and lately more so than ever, that you are who you are.

    Love, hugs, support, strength, warmth,xoxoxo!

Monica (and Thomas sends his love and best wishes too)
