Hello from Trisha!

"Hi, Everybody! Trisha here! Just wanted you all to know I'm fine!

Big news! I finished my six-week course of chemo and radiation treatments!!!! (for now at least!). My hair has definitely headed for the hills. Turns out I have a beautiful cranium!
The docs will soon do tests and see how they'd like to proceed with more possible treaments. Also, my steroid dose is down to a more manageable level so I'm feeling a bit more *normal*.

So all in all, I am feeling pretty capable and hardy, and my energy is very good! I even spent the whole weekend at a close friend's house in the South Bay Area! Fun was had by all. Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, and comments. I appreciate every one of them very much! Love, Trisha"
p.s. in case you want to read the fine print on my beautiful certificate, it reads, "Patricia Callahan has completed the prescribed course of Radiation Therapy with a high order of proficiency in the Art of being cheerful, outstanding in high courage, tolerant and determined in all orders given. It is recognized by our staff as an Honorable Achievement, and we would like to congratulate you, on a job well done."

How was that last treatment? Were you still able to get your plastic cap on? See you tonight!

  5. The thing is, Trish, that certificate MAY be pre-printed and they MAY have given to other patients, but there's NO WAY, I'm sure, it could apply more perfectly to anyone else than YOU! Talk about cheerful and following orders well! Anyway, I'm so proud of you my buttons are bursting, and also I'm so INSPIRED by you!
    a million love,
    your sister Mary

  6. I'm happy you're done with this phase, dear Trish. No one WANTS to get a certificate of achievement in the art of sailing through radiation and chemo treatments, but if you must do it, might as well get appreciated for it. I AM sure you are the most lovable patient there. And how nice you won't be seeing them for a while nor they you :)

  7. You'll be needing a fancy frame for that certificate! So, did they let you keep the face patterning mask? Personally, I loved that look. ;-)

    Guess which card I'm holding?
Guess I'll see you when I'm out there.
