All is well - My dear sister Trish is resting now after another day of outstanding progress. Tiring - but worth it. She is getting stronger by the hour - and this will continue in the coming weeks until she is strong enough for the next phase of her treatment.
This part of her recovery includes some difficulty with finding the exact word she wants - and a bit of short term memory difficulties - but you can be sure our Trish is just fine ... her sense of humor is intact, for sure, and she is sharp as a tack. The other things will pass as she gets better.
The All Star team at UCSF will soon lay out a plan for additional treatment over the next few months - chemo and radiation therapy. We will give details to you all as we learn them.
For now - I want to thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement, support, and your posts about your interesting lives. I read them to Trish every day - she loves them and we hope she will soon be able to post herself, and reply to each of you.
Auntie Trisha, when you are ready for a nice dose of cuddly baby, let us know and we'll all be there with bells on!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you continue to recover so well! Would love to see you again when the time is right....

Hi Trisha,
ReplyDeleteBob and I miss you!
Bob has been eating like a horse the past two days. This morning he even horned in on Rosie's breakfast which completely dumbfounded her. Maybe today is a two-block walk day. Also, he and Bella have begun a new friendship. She sits above him and pets his head. He doesn't seem to mind.
Helen is attending Stanford Jazz Camp this week as a vocalist. She's irritated that there are so many annoying idiots there, but I think she's learning at least a little. I observed a rhythm session (which she wasn't attending of course) and it seemed great to me. Ah, to be 15 and know everything.
I'm happy you are doing so well and have such a wealth of support and love.
Hope to see you soon. Much love, Sarah, Bob, Helen, Bill, Rosie and Luna
Hi Trisha Squisha,
ReplyDeleteI'm visiting my aunties in Laredo and they are praying for you every day (candles and all). They remember you from my graduation party in Berkeley. I'm heading to Hattiesburg and then moving to MIami to teach there for a year. Stephen is heading to Santa Fe and enjoying camping along the way. We'll see each other every other weekend. Our good friend Dana (harpsichordist) who he teaches with at USM just went through a brain tumor operation too - chemo, radiation, etc. Her dogs name is T. She is recovering beautifully and even played with the VBF this last summer. You might want to chat with her at some point. We'll get you two in touch. Hang in there sweet Trish!!!!
My dearest, most darling Auntie,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that you are recovering so unexpectedly quickly! I know you have had a million (or so) visitors, so that's why I haven't been by - I don't want to overwhelm you. I've also been busy studying (well, cramming) for a test I found out I have to take in a couple of weeks; I wasn't supposed to take it until September or something!
Xoxoxo,
Sarah
Dear Trish, I appreciate your bro for keeping us so well informed. The anxiety and worry on our end can be intense if we don't know what's going on. What news do I have to keep you entertained? I have a video (Chuck's Garden - a slideshow) in two musical versions that I finally posted on YouTube, about an endangered garden...see it before it's removed for copyright violations. Yes, I know, as a new librarian, I should know about these things!
ReplyDeleteLots of love,
Emily (aka Emster)
