Trisha here again!

Hi Everyone!

I'm here at John (my brother's) house, where I'll be staying for a (few more) weeks. John's keeping my hale (and almost hardy) soul a bit on the lively edge of the post brain tumor recipe. Okay, that was a lot to say in English after so many funny things going on in English after what my mom......wait.....

I'm going to have John re-write this, and maybe it'll make better sense.

John here! Trish is doing great, and is practically her old self again - but typing sentences is still a bit of a challenge, as you can see!

Her dear friend Allison Boles is here from Reno taking care of her for a few days, and Trisha's family are all stopping by individually for short visits. Too much stimulation wears her down fast and causes some frustration. We are finding that fewer, shorter visits, and no more that two or three people (including Trish) are best.

I'm doing a bit more each day, and I'm very happy to be connected with you. Please continue to send your messages, because I'm looking at them every day.

All my best, and I'll hear from you tomorrow!!!!!

Tuesday night - from John

All is well - My dear sister Trish is resting now after another day of outstanding progress. Tiring - but worth it. She is getting stronger by the hour - and this will continue in the coming weeks until she is strong enough for the next phase of her treatment.

This part of her recovery includes some difficulty with finding the exact word she wants - and a bit of short term memory difficulties - but you can be sure our Trish is just fine ... her sense of humor is intact, for sure, and she is sharp as a tack. The other things will pass as she gets better.

The All Star team at UCSF will soon lay out a plan for additional treatment over the next few months - chemo and radiation therapy. We will give details to you all as we learn them.

For now - I want to thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement, support, and your posts about your interesting lives. I read them to Trish every day - she loves them and we hope she will soon be able to post herself, and reply to each of you.

Tuesday - Trish settling in

Trisha had a very good day with visits from many family, some great food, naps, and walks around the house and the back deck. Still no reading or typing for her until her head stops hurting quite so much (yours would too - after brain surgery)!

Monday - Trisha is Home!

Well, home to John and Nancy's house for now ... Trish was doing so well that the UCSF Docs sent her home with her brother for some R&R. She had wonderful care at the UCSF hospital - but she is very happy to be able to rest in a more peaceful environment. She looks forward to being able to communicate and visit with you all soon - but she needs to concentrate on recovering from brain surgery for now.

Sunday Afternoon Update

Trisha continues to have a very smooth recovery from her surgery last Friday. We hope to have her home early in the week, where she will continue her recovery and prepare for the next phase of her treatment.

Welcome to my new Blog

This Blog has been created to keep Friends and Relations updated on Trisha's recent sudden illness - a brain tumor - which was discovered on July 16, 2010. She had surgery on July 23, 2010, at UCSF, performed by Dr. Mannish K. Aghi

http://neurosurgery.ucsf.edu/index.php/about_us_faculty_aghi.html

Dr. Aghi is pleased with the outcome of the surgery and even more pleased with Trisha's remarkable recovery from the surgery. She should be released within a few days, and Trisha requests that only immediate family visit her at this time.

Trisha will be away from her cell phone and email for a while, and requests that her friends leave messages for her here, on this blog. Soon, Trisha will be making her own progress reports here, on this blog. Meanwhile, her family will post progress reports here.
